My first impression of this book is that it is deeply emotional, incredibly difficult, and very sensual. It is written in first-person narration, and the reader is introduced to the main character. She is returning to Marbella, Spain, to revisit the place of her love affair with a man named Omar.

The reader learns about the main protagonist's family: her Iranian mother, British father, and brother. Her father has remarried a very unpleasant, domineering woman, and the protagonist speaks very negatively about this woman.

I loved the mood and tone of this book: it is dark, foreboding, and the language is very lush. I only read the first 30 pages of this book, but it is very intriguing, and I plan to read the rest of the book very soon.

I love books that are set in other countries or continents, as it gives me a wonderful new perspective.
