i think that the best word to describe this book would be "interesting" --- when i initially read the synopsis, i was certainly intrigued by the premise as well as the ways that all of these different themes would connect and interact. i think it was very interesting how the main character essentially revisited memories and experiences from 20 years ago, with a very different (and haunting) perspective.

the writing style was quite lovely and the tone was very interesting, oftentimes sorrowful and/or melancholy (i know, i know, sorrowful and melancholy seem like synonyms most of the time, but here, i feel like there was a bit of a difference). overall, i appreciated the poignant moments of commentary as well as the captivating writing style, and i would likely be interested in reading some more of this author's previous or future works
