Savage Tongues is the story of Arezu as she relives the events of the summer when she went to visit her father. Her father never shows up but his step-nephew does and a relationship is formed. Savage Tongues is a darker tone story which made it difficult to read (please check trigger warnings/contact warnings). It is a different story and in a genre that I do not read a lot of but I still had an overall pleasant experience while reading this book. It was a solid read but the execution was a bit off. The trauma that was shown was impactful yet the execution was not there. One of the best parts of the book is definitely the friendships as it was a deeper bond and it was further explored. I really enjoyed Ellie’s character and the bond that she had with Arezu. It personally felt like a slow read. There definitely was something missing to the story but overall a very solid read.
