This novel is so beautifully written that I want to read sentences slowly, intellectually appreciating and emotionally drowning in them. But I also want to read rapidly to encounter all that is promised in the first few pages. A wonderful and confounding dilemma. I believe I will read Savage Tongues quickly -- the first time -- and then immediately return to page 1 for another immersion in its gorgeous language.
