Wow this is immediately very dark and heavy and I am really into it! I love the reflections the narrator has about herself, her body, and her family, against the backdrop of international political history and economics. She's an itinerant woman from an itinerant family with incredibly complex relationships with each other. I'm equally interested in the narrator's relationship with her father as her relationship with her lover - both of which sound catastrophic. I'm blown away by this writing and I cannot wait to read the rest!!
