This starts out as a book that might be difficult to read, in some ways. I see sexual violence in pages to come. Since, the author presents so well in her opening pages, the different sides of the same coin; pain/pleasure, ecstasy/devastation, and Occidental/Oriental cultures that it will be so fascinating to see how these sides have played out in the life of the main character. I want to know that not only does she survive reliving a horrible past experience but that she thrives.
