The cover is striking but in a WTF way as it seems to have little connection to the story. I felt like it was trying too hard to be a classic literary novel. The synopsis and excerpt did not interest me. A woman returning to confront her childhood trauma of being sexually abused. The excerpt had one chapter that was 26 pages, so it almost felt like a stream of consciousness. The writing style is just not my cup of tea on top of a plot that holds little interest for me. I'm sure there will be an audience for this book, and it will probably win awards, but this is a hard pass for me.
