This excerpt of Savage Tongues offered a lot more than I was expecting. It's primarily the main character, Arezu, recounting some of her thoughts and feelings as she returns to Spain two decades after having a toxic affair with an older man there. The writing is emotional and gripping, and I'm curious to read more! The style of the cover isn't what I would have expected for this book, with the sharp lines and angles, but perhaps after reading more I'll feel differently.
