I was initially drawn to this book by the comparison to Shirley Jackson...I love her out-of-the-box writing style, and would love to read a modern book written like this.
I also like the idea of the two girls trying to solve the old mystery of what happened to the missing father. As an added bonus, it's set in Spain, and the girls have unique and interesting backgrounds and heritages.
