Slow Build

I anticipated the book to build and keep my interest better than it did.
It’s mainly told from the sisters perspective with some other vacation goers sprinkled at the ends of chapters.
You get a decent way into the book before much starts to happen. It’s all very surface level and skims through the sisters life after the disappearance of her sister.
Finally the sister starts to investigate all these years later, which more starts to happen but still slowly.
I think all the hype surrounding this one just gave me super high expectations, and I expected it to read out differently than it did.
Still a good story overall, and it was nice that it was from a different perspective. I did forget it was fiction sometimes while reading!
