Not what I expected

I really loved the way that this book presented the storyline from a variety of perspectives, especially that of a person believed to have played a role in the crime. This book ended up being a lot more social commentary than I expected, and it made me think about so many things beyond the tragedy that constituted the main plot point. I was most fascinated by the tourism aspect. If the point of going on a vacation like this was to leave "real life" behind, what about the people whose "real life" is taking place at the vacation destination? And what happens when experiences that occur during the vacation can't be easily packed up and left behind as the tourists return home? This book had me thinking about these questions and many more, all the while keeping me fully engaged in the question of how the death occurred. I look forward to reading more by this author.
