I've seen a lot of mixed reviews, so of course I needed to get a look at it for myself! The book starts off in almost a second person "you" form, where you're supposed ot be looking at a landscape, and unfortunately, I knew immediateely it just wasn't going to be for me. There's something about the writing style that doesn't click. I understand that Saint X deals quite a bit with grief and emotion, but it just didn't come across as strongly as it could have.

In the search for the truth of Allison's death, our MC cannot move on with her life, and is trapped in this desparate state. Set in the Caribbean, I will say we don't see this often, especially in YA books, but I just really can't connect to it at all! I'm sure it's the right book for someone.
