The description of this book sounded like it would be so interesting! Claire's sister, Alison, turns up dead while the family is on vacation and years later Claire is in the cab of one of the men who was suspected of killing Alison. Then it becomes Claire's mission to find out what really happened. I might have had too high of expectations going into it which lead me to feel meh about the book in the end. I really enjoyed the details of the past from Claire's perspective and how eventually we learn the same information from Alison's perspective. Slowly learning that teenaged Alison was not the person who 7 year old Claire thought she was. As Claire follows Clive, who was suspected of murdering Alison, we learn more about him as well. I liked Clive's backstory, but moments seemed too wordy and drawn out which kept me from being interesting in the story. At the end of the day, I barely remember what happened at the end of this book. I do know I was dissatisfied with the ending, but enjoyed Claire and Clive's overall stories even if some parts seemed irrelevant to the plot.
