This was a book we had read for my book club and wow what a discussion it generated. It sounds like a thriller, so there was a part of me that was like "great, another thriller" but at the end of the day it wasn't. In fact it left a lot up to interpretation and I loved it!

Its told by two points of view which seems to be the norm now a days. After the mysterious death of her sister, Claire has assumed a new identity to break away from the press that has surrounded it for years. She now goes by Emily. Through out the book, we get a look at how Allison's (her sister) death affected Emily, and her parents along with the relationship she had with her parents. Not just the family's grief but also other's who knew Allison such as her first boyfriend who never really got over her to the couple who found her and also the men who were accused and then cleared of killing her.

This is a book about characters and the relationships that are formed. Its also how one event can have a rippling effect on so many lives.
