This is such a great thriller! It reminded me of some real life cases where girls go missing on a Caribbean island. Claire is vacationing on Saint X with her parents and older sister Alison. Unbeknownst to her parents, Alison is a bit of a party girl and she goes missing on their last night on Saint X. Her body is found in a remote location nearby, and 2 employees are arrested for the crime but later released. The case goes unsolved.
The story then moves to years later when Claire is an adult living in New York. She has a chance encounter with Clive Richardson, one of the men arrested for her sisters murder. Claire eventually discovers the truth if what happened, but with it the question : did she really know her sister ? This book shows that we really don’t always know who people are and what they are capable of. I really liked the ending, a twist, but with some closure! Would recommend!
