I was a bit disappointed with this novel, as I went into it with high expectations after reading the synopsis. The pace of the book seemed a bit slow, especially in the beginning. I did not really get into the book until about halfway through, but then found myself questioning what I was reading as it would constantly switch perspectives / narrators. I had to go back and re-read multiple sections because my interpretation of a passage changed drastically when I realized it was a different character’s viewpoint described at that point.

I did quite enjoy the descriptive language in this novel and found I could easily imagine the different settings and locations. The characters were well developed and diverse. I do feel like there were some plot points that could have been expanded on / more fully developed, but overall this was a decent read.
