I'm intrigued by the story itself, of an adult Claire wanting to know everything about her older sister who died when she was a fairly young child. However, the beginning got into the overly descriptive realm for me as it seemed to go on forever about the island...it felt like the beginning of a movie where the zoom in from the universe, to deep space, to the galaxy, et cetera before finally going to a person on a street. Except longer. I am curious to see where this one goes though as it I kept reading it so clearly something about it sucked me in and I want to know what happened to Alison, how Claire and her parents coped with the loss once they discovered it, how she grew up without her big sister, and what kind of relationship she ends up with regards to the former accused.
