I wasn't sure what to expect from this book, but I can say I wasn't impressed. It takes a really long time to get to the point.

The whole excerpt tells of the ten days (and longer) that Alison and her family (and countless of other guests who I'm not sure even matter in the grand scheme of the story) spent doing on the Caribbean island of Saint X. On the last day of the trip, Alison goes missing and her family is frantic in finding her, but it's really hard to care when we're (the reader) are only onlookers, being told the story by an omniscient third person. We don't ever truly interact with any of the characters or their feelings as this information is just fed to us by the narrator

According to the summary, we're supposed to be following Claire on her quest to uncover what happened to her sister and who she is, but I'm not even sure when that will happen. She's still only a child at the 50ish page mark
