Claire and Allison are two sisters on a Caribbean vacation with their parents. Claire, the younger sister who is just a small child, is the focus of the narrative despite being a mostly omnipotent, third person narrator. Allison is her beautiful, older, teenage sister. The sisters’ relationship is beautifully portrayed. You can really feel the closeness. It is near the end of their vacation that Allison goes missing. The terror their parents feel is unsettling and visceral. Eventually, her body is discovered. The story will go on to explore Claire’s connecting with one of the key suspects.
This book is thrilling, intriguing, and beautifully written. This is going to be a buzz worthy and much loved and blogged about book in 2020. Can’t wait!
