The first part of the book was hard to get into. The description of the islands were a little tedious and I found myself skimming through. However, once we start getting introduced to the characters it pick up quickly. It's an interesting perspective to be looking into the past on these characters and start to hear how their lives are different now. Definitely a different sounding voice than I am use to reading, but I'm curious.
