This book actually scared the crap out of me
I went into this book with limited expectations, as it is a YA horror type novel and let me tell you, I was not prepared for how GOOD and scared this book made me. I got goose bumps and had some moments where I was afraid to turn out the lights, and that has not happened to me with a book in a while. It was exactly the type of book I would want to read around Halloween. It reminded me of a thread I read on reddit about a game people play when driving that also gave me the hebbie geebies.
My only gripe with this book is that the ending took away a lot of the spooks I got, because it turned out to be just like every other scary YA thriller novel and to be honest it was just not that scary as a wrap up. If i had only read the first 3/4ths of this book, i would have easily given it five stars.
Overall, I loved the characters, the premise of the spooks and I still think about this book a lot!
