Rules for Vanishing is a terrifying rollarcoaster ride of a story. It is written as a mockumentary which was a nice change from the traditionally written novel.
The story itself started off strong. The main protagonist, Sara, gathers a group of "friends" to follow a hidden road in the woods in search of her sister who has been missing for the past year. Along the way Sara and her friends encounter terrifying challenges and dangerous creatures they must overcome.
This is a tale of survival amongst the paranormal world. Right away the reader is swept up in this fast past novel. Unfortunately, somewhere along the way (at least for me) it fell apart. The story was just too out there and became hard to follow. Without giving away too much, I am just going to say the ending left me very confused.
