I went into this book really hoping to feel whisked away by how spooky and eerie the woods were supposed to be but weirdly enough I didn't end up feeling that. Which was an extreme disappointment since I had high expectations for the book (maybe too high). I will say though that maybe this is completely on me since this was a young adult horror and I am used to reading horror for adults.
HOWEVER, I will say that the premise of this book is AMAZING. Anything about a town legend that is spooky and makes you want to hide under your covers is where I am at (especially when you live in New England). It was like the Blair Witch Trials legends and I was here for it.
Overall, I say that this is an excellent young adult horror especially for people who are just starting to read horror and want something that will creep them out but confuse the hell out of them.
