Where to begin, this was one book I'd been looking forward to reading long before it was published. When I finally got my hands on it I was so excited to read it, and it took me 3 months of trying before I finally had to admit I couldn't read anymore. I enjoyed the style of writing (using report excerpts, interviews from after the "incident", etc) that was definitely the best thing about this book, very unique and well done. But this story is SO SLOW! For a thriller/ghost story, sure some parts were strange occurrences, but none of them made me as the reader feel anything I'm assuming was meant to be felt. The only character I felt like I knew was the main character. Everyone else was really never described or felt real to me, some I didn't know who they even were as they went into the woods. So when anything happened to them I didn't care. I truly wanted to love this book, but it was WAY too slow, too long, and not enough character development to make me care or want to keep reading.
