This was such a refreshing and different sort of book! It was beyond atmospheric, and the mystery was genuinely unlike any I'd read before. I also really liked how the author used mixed media to tell the story, too. I had no idea at any given point how the book was going to end, which of course is always appreciated in a mystery. And the characters were really well developed too, which is sometimes a problem for me with mystery/thriller books, but definitely wasn't the case with this book! It also really helped that I was then able to connect to the side characters, so that I cared about what happened to ALL the characters in the book, not just the main ones. Overall, the author completely nailed the atmosphere/vibe of the creepy forest, and it kept me hooked until the end!
