3.5 out of 5 stars. The novel started out really strong and then started to lose steam towards the end. I was so intrigued and hooked in the beginning. I loved the inventive style with the inclusion of chapters that were case files. That contributed so much to the mystery and added a bit of true crime flair. For me though, as the novel progressed I sometimes had trouble keeping all of the characters straight and their relationships with one another. There are just so many. Additionally, the further they traveled on the road, some of the descriptions became a little confusing. Although the eerie atmosphere always remained intact, it was sometimes hard for me to visualize this totally new world. Overall I was very entertained and had fun reading it.
