This book did a lot of new and interesting things with the concept of the ghost story. However, I would not recommend the audiobook experience as I found it confusing and difficult to keep up with. Certain passages of this book are intended to confuse you and the formatting matters.
The sister relationship in this book was really compelling and well done, I loved reading about the main character and her emotions felt real to me. The atmosphere of this book was amazingly creepy and did a great job of keeping me gripped and engaged in the story as I read. This was so compulsively readable and definitely a great pick for teens who like horror and paranormal stories focused on sister relationships. The use of unreliable narration was so inventive and fresh although it was a bit confusing at times and there were quite a few red herrings throughout.
