After reading the first look I knew I had to read the rest. It had everything I like to see in a romance: the banter, sexual tension, and a little steam. However I do not think the romance was the main focus of the story. But I was not disappointed because it added the comic relief. I felt like the character development was so good and everything was relatable.

Annie and Emmitt were both dealing with their own issues and it was nice to see both their POV. The book focus on Annie and her relationships with her ex, her parents, and her ethnicity. While Emmitt was trying to work his way back into his daughters life and coparenting with two other men. I loved that being roommates tied them together and they helped each other work through their problems in the funniest way because of their banter. The sticky notes were the best.

The ending felt a tad rushed to me but that was because I didn’t want the story to end. I would have loved to see an epilogue and that would be my only complaint.

This book made me laugh and cry and I would highly recommend. Thank you to Bookishfirst and Kensington Publishing for the gifted copy.
