"A mistake so terrible, all the chocolate in the world couldn’t
fix it."

With that on sentence, I was hooked. The author does a great job of layering the exposition into the continuous plot rather than just having the audience trudge through a long internal monologue of Annie's misfortunes. Plus, as the above line shows, you can see Annie's personality and wit right from the get go! Instantly she is a character anyone can relate to, making the upcoming emotional drama more potent for the audience. I was about ready to murder Dr. Dickless just from the first three pages!

When I first read the description, I instantly thought of a Hallmark movie, and no one is going to change my mind on that. The plot line is suspiciously similar to basically every Hallmark movie ever made. However, as described above, there is such a different dynamic to the characters that I am really excited to get into! I am curious as to whether or not Clark is going to get some additional development or if he is going to remain a static antagonist throughout the novel. Some dynamics throughout all the characters, especially this one, could prove to push the story past the Hallmark basics. Regardless, I truly think that even with the basic plot line, the characters are going to make this story fresh and enticing for all readers!
