There is a reason I gave it 4 stars but first, I love this book. Absolutely fell in love. I haven't read a book like this since I first read Percy Jackson. Made me laugh like no tomorrow. I also didn't expect the Spaniards to be involved. Love the adventure it took me. Love the trio of Zack, Ash, and Sandra.

The book is base on Jewish folklore/religion and shows religion trauma that Zach's (the main character) family push on him and his sister. Mom is jewish and wants to teach them their history while the dad's mom (grandma) wants to force Christianity on them. I'm not sure about the little sister but Zach seem more comfortable being Jewish than Christian, which I understand. I grew up in a Catholic family and anyone who forced me with religion made me uncomfortable. Zach's mom does push her religion onto them but not as hard his grandma.

There is some comparison of both Jewish and Christian, like the demons, and it is nice to learn new things. Especially other religion/culture.

Now the reason for 4 stars is because of the word "Latinx" is used. I myself is latina and we already have a neutral words. The word is more of an english word that doesn't work with our spanish language. "Latine" works just fine; it can work with the language. Call us hispanic, latino/a, foo, or even a slur. Telling it here is the majority of us finds "Latinx" more of a slur.
