I absolutely loved the representation in this book. I am a queer jewish person and so is the main character and the author! It's rare that I see both represented together and I am happy to see it in a younger genre, however I much prefer young adult to middle grade. I didn't love the overall plot, I was bored at times but it read super quickly. I really connected with the representation of not feeling Jewish enough but still getting bullied by stereotypes and I also liked learning about all the jewish mythology in this book! It was interesting and I love other mythology books too. If you liked Percy Jackson I think you'll like this one! I also liked the girl that was the best friend/side character and the sister. I want to know more about them. I could easily see this becoming a series, it has great potential. I do also wish we'd gotten more from the queer rep.
