I am grateful to have received an ARC of this book. A fun adventure with enjoyable, quirky characters with apocalyptic tensions and big monster battles!

What I loved most wasn't the captivating adventure or the intriguing Jewish folklore (and they were solid contenders!), it was our main character, 12-year-old Zach. He's a queer Jewish boy struggling with bullying and being himself. His thoughts about how he relates to the monsters in horror films and how he's treated by others is simply heart wrending but also heartwarming as the story develops. He's a sweet boy who grows in friendship and finding strength to start standing up for himself. This was my favorite aspect of the book: the character development!

I really enjoyed the Jewish folklore aspects and relics. Fans of Percy Jackson will adore this book. There's room for more, so fingers crossed!
