Okay, I certainly don't fall into the YA category, but what a wonderful sneak peek of "Ring of Solomon"! The author, Aden Polydoros, does an outstanding job of developing his character, plot and setting. The two main characters, Zach and Naomi, are siblings that are a few years apart in age. They certainly act like siblings. There are the good times and the bad! Zach is dealing with coming into his own in middle school. Their parents, Peter and Catherine are of different religious backgrounds. Peter is of the Christian faith and Catherine is Jewish. This causes some stress with the in-laws and a bit of confusion for Zach and Naomi. The plot starts off with Naomi and Zach at the flea market in search of a special gift for their mother's upcoming 40th birthday. They decide on a special ring with a Jewish background that they know their mother will love. Due to a comedy of errors, Zach discovers that the ring has magical powers. The sneak peek ends with Zach having conjured up the "King of demons".
What a fun novel. I can't wait to read the remainder of this enjoyable YA read!
