Well the Jewish mythology part sounds interesting, this is something that I would have to do a thorough content review of before recommending it for parents or the appropriate age group. I'm not necessarily sure that I think middle grade books should have romance plots but I'd have to see what context it's in. I also have mixed feelings about portal fantasies and those types of stories in general soo . / Shrug for now based on the excerpt I would pass on this one
