Based on the cover I thought this would be a children's adventure book similar to The Lightning Thief. However the religious aspects of the book really threw me for a loop. The books deals with Jewish mythical creatures. In the beginning of the book there's also a line about their Christian side of the family. Without reading the rest of the book it already seems like too much religion for me to use in the classroom. If I'm going to read young adult or children's books, I like to read books that I can share with my students. This would be one I would need to pass on.
