Haven't read YA fiction in quite a while, but this one drew me in right away. I loved seeing the relationship between the protagonist and his younger sister right from the start, as someone who also has a younger sibling and remembers what that relationship was like in childhood. The constant struggle between feeling "enough" for a culture is one I resonate with and am looking forward to seeing how the author weaves that theme into the rest of the exciting mythical adventure of a story.
