While the premise of this book sounds amazing, I think it's trying too hard to be "relatable" and "modern" especially when it's supposed to be a fantasy book. I don't think the religion and sexuality is needed here. It doesn't feel right, at least not in the way it's presented. The cover is amazing, though, and it really drew me in. There's potential with the plot, but I don't think it's quite there yet.
