Beautiful cover and an intriguing premise. I love the historical aspect and the full circle connection between current day, 18th-century Haiti, and 19th-century New Orleans. There's a great voice here and it sounds like there will be a bit of magic. Very curious to see where the story will pick up after the excerpt.
