Admittedly, historical fiction is not my favorite genre, but this excerpt was quite promising. Margot is an intriguing character, on the cusp of freedom and in possession of some mysterious magic. I am curious about her story, and how it will connect with Gaelle in current day. Also, the cover is very stunning!
