I love the choice of settings and the premise for this story, but I'm not sold on the multiple timelines. Jumping around to such extremes has the unfortunate tendency to feel choppy, which is how this First Impression felt to me. This is the type of story that can take quite some time to get into because of all the short scenes with different characters in different eras. That being said, the writing is quite good.
