I found the magical realism or fantastical element interesting. I don't know if i'll get into the story later but at moment I'm not into it. On paper this would be a book I would like- historical fiction (specifically pertaing to black people), fantastical, secrets pertaining to history, present and past alternate timelines (which can turn me off most of time wasn't done bad here). I will have to pick up story again later to see how I feel then.
