Not bad, but not for me

I was excited to receive a copy of Reborn after reading an excerpt; I thought I would really enjoy the book. Unfortunately, it just isn't the book for me. It is not a bad book by any means; in fact, I've already recommended it to someone that I think would really enjoy it.

I didn't know before reading it that there would be such a heavy-handed romance in the book, and romance is not a genre I like to read much, if ever. The relationship between Tristan and Isabelle also felt very immature to me; much more like an infatuation than actual love, which grated on my nerves.

I was bothered more than once by characters acting in ways that starkly contradicted certain personality traits previously established. I also felt that at times it became unnecessarily wordy, almost like the author was trying to sound a certain way instead of just letting the story unfold. A little forced, I guess, is a better way to describe it.

I did, however, enjoy the more action packed bits of the book. I just wish there had been more of that in the book.
