This is the first book I have read from this author and came in not knowing anything about the story. The author has created a pair of star-crossed lovers that were in love in the past and have been brought back together. The man has no memory of his life prior to his military service and has been living underground as an assassin for a group that hire out killings. The woman remembers everything and tries to move on because she is broken from losing him. The reunion between the two seemed really forced and the events of this book had this tone about them that I really disliked. I felt that the woman was supposed to be considered strong for whatever reason, however I felt that she was more interested in having sex and getting this need filled over anything. I would have liked to really see her pine for him. I really wanted to like this one, however I felt that it was too formulaic and forced. Thanks for the ARC, BookishFirst.
