My sleep-deprived nights were totally worth it! This book is everything I want in a thriller/suspense book, and the fact that it’s also a romance was the cherry on top.

Tristan and Isabel (that gives you an idea of the star-crossed fate of the main characters) were very much in love as teenagers but for some unknown reason he breaks it up and Isabel is left with a broken heart. Fast forward years later and they are once again together but in completely different circumstances, fighting for their lives at every turn while trying to recover memories lost.

The excerpt alone was enough for me to want to read this book. Tristan is not the man Isabel once loved yet she gets glimpses of the man he once was. From the beginning, the strings of my heart were pulled in every which way because of Isabel’s longing. I was already yearning for a HEA but kept wondering what kind of HEA they would reach. Her confusion is understandable and his attitude although frustrating, managed to keep the story “real.” I’m not much of a fan of stories told in first person in present tense but I was so engrossed in this one that I hardly even noticed and it didn’t bother me one bit.

With the right amount of steaminess, character growth, an action-packed plot, and an epic emotional ride, this is one book I totally recommend to readers craving for the right mix of romance with suspense. 4.5 stars.

Side note: If you have a chance read 1-3 parts back to back or you’re going to be frustrated by the cliffhangers at the end of each part. I know I would have!
