Action with a heavy dose of romance

I give Red Ledger Reborn by Meredith Wild 3.75 stars. This is a story of a paid assassin who has no memory of his past. His current target, unbeknownst to him, is his ex-girlfriend who is still very much in love with him. As the plot unfolds and the heat rises, the tale plays out fast and furious. This is definitely an action adventure story with a very (and I mean very) heavy dose of romance to top it all off. I enjoyed the book but found the main character, Isabel, to be a little too naive and dependent on her hitman ex-lover Tristan. But the plot and characters begin to mature near the end of the book so I suspect that Isabel will learn to be more strong and independent in volume two. I'm looking forward to learning how this scenario plays out in the next installment!
