Memory loss is facinating

The cover is very boring - doesn't grab me at all. If this book were on display at my library, I wouldn't even pick it up to see what is about. There is nothing to give any clue as to what the story will be about. I think if you don't grab a potential reader from the first look, you've probably lost that person unless you are a well-known author and a person grabs a book because of the author's name alone.
But in reading the first look, this seems like it would be an interesting story. I've always been intrigued by the premise of memory lost - who is a person if he can't remember anything? Does he keep the personality that was formed through the experiences that are now forgotten?
I chose a couple of paragraphs at random from the five-page preview, and love the descriptive writing this author uses. The way she described the cocktail the character had prepared had me wanting one, too.
Putting this on my list to look for once it is released.
