The excerpt is an interesting start. I'm curious to know if it's the opening of the book, or pulled from the middle. It seems like this is the type of book where the plot isn't a linear timeline, which is something I do like if done well. The writing isn't capturing me from the excerpt. Perhaps it would take me more than 5 pages to develop a rhythm with this author's writing style. All in all, after reading that excerpt, I would read more.
