How are Tristan and Isabel connected?

the first impression sparks my interest. Tristan knows nothing about himself but his job and his job is to kill those he's been told to kill. In comes Isabel who knows Tristan and calls him by name. So even though Tristan knows nothing about himself, he's compelled to find out what Isabel can tell him about who is is. I can see myself reading this novel in one sitting.
