Queenie has been touted as a Bridget Jones-ish book. While there may be similarities, Queenie is so much more. This book had me questioning Queenie at times, made me feel for the situation she was in, situations she put herself in. Queenie is a Jamaican British living in London, trying to date, while dealing with an array of other issues. While Queenie struggles in all sorts of ways, the book makes you laugh throughout. While there were a few moments of frustration, wishing Queenie wouldn't make the choices she does, this book held my interest, and left me wondering what Queenie would do. I hope the author continues to write modern stories of friendship, love, and life in your 20's-40's. Worth the read!
