I love this book, which follows Queenie, a Jamaican British woman living in London and working at a newspaper around mostly white people, as she navigates her world, her relationships, her purpose, and her identity.

Candice Carty-Williams manages to address issues of race, clashing cultures, gender, dating, female friendship, work, mental health, family, and even the Black Lives Matter movement in such an authentic and natural way.
Despite dealing with heartbreaking and serious issues, this book is absolutely hilarious.

Queenie's journey to be heard, recognized, and to fight for what is right resonated deeply with me, and I am sure it will resonate with many other young women.
